Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 18 October 2026

This is a starting template, not finished legal copy. Replace every bracketed placeholder and have it reviewed by a qualified lawyer before publishing it live — this covers the shape of typical SaaS terms but isn't tailored to your specific business, jurisdiction, or risk profile.

1. Agreement to terms

By creating an account or using GDPR ("the Service"), you agree to these terms. If you're signing up on behalf of a company, you confirm you have authority to bind that company to this agreement.

2. The service

The Service is a software tool that helps you track and organize GDPR-related records — subject access requests, data breaches, DPIAs, suppliers, processing activities, and staff training. It is a record-keeping and reminder tool, not legal advice, and using it does not by itself guarantee legal compliance with GDPR or any other regulation. You remain responsible for your own compliance obligations.

3. Accounts and trials

New companies receive a [14]-day free trial with full access, no payment method required. After the trial ends, continued access requires an active paid subscription. You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account.

4. Billing

Subscriptions are billed in advance on a recurring basis (monthly or annually, as selected) via our payment processor, Stripe. You can cancel at any time through your billing settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. [State your refund policy here — e.g. "no refunds for partial periods" or whatever you actually intend to offer.]

5. Your data

You own the data you enter into the Service. We process it on your behalf to provide the Service, as described in our Privacy Policy. If you cancel your subscription, your data is retained for [X days] to allow reactivation, after which it may be permanently deleted.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to store unlawful content, attempt to breach the security of the platform, or use it in a way that disrupts service for other customers.

7. Limitation of liability

The Service is provided "as is." To the maximum extent permitted by law, [Legal Company Name] is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including regulatory fines, arising from your use of the Service. [This clause needs jurisdiction- specific legal review — liability limitations are not enforceable in the same way everywhere.]

8. Termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or remain unpaid after a reasonable grace period following a failed payment.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of [Your Jurisdiction].

10. Contact

Questions about these terms can be sent to [legal@yourdomain.com] or via our contact page.
